North Creek Mosaic Project
Welcome to the North Creek Mosaic Project - The largest community artwork in the Adirondacks!
The North Creek Mosaic Project is a must-see community mural, beautifying 230’ of walls along Main Street in North Creek, NY.
“Our scene represents the nature and recreation of our area on an ideal spring day - a ‘Purely Adirondack’ day - depicting the river, mountains, sky and trees, with accents of skiers, boaters, fishermen, creatures and plants,” says local artist Kate Hartley (of H’ART Studio & Gallery).
From 2011 to 2020, Kate led over 2000 enthusiastic volunteers of all ages in its creation. Local students, visitors and community groups participated in the 10 years of the project. Each detail of flora and fauna was created by a child or adult, through classes, camps and workshops, and through volunteering “at the wall.” The mural, open to viewing year-round, covers four large walls along the sidewalk, and contains more than 200,000 individual tiles. “Come see our masterpiece!”

H’ART Studio & Gallery
H’ART Studio & Gallery, 276 Main Street, is open Wednesday to Saturday afternoons. Come to us for Fine Art, Fine Crafts and Creative Classes.
We represent over 50 local artists and makers with paintings, prints, rustic creations, puzzles, ornaments, pottery, textiles, candles, art canvasses and photos.
H’ART Studio & Gallery is the new venture of artist Kate Hartley, who you may have seen on the sidewalks of the town for the past 10 years sticking tile (and teaching others) to create the impressive North Creek Mosaic Project. Now that she had so much “free time” another collaborative adventure seemed inevitable, and she is thrilled to represent amazing artists from the town and surrounding region!
H’ART is a go-to destination for art classes and workshops, as well, specializing in mosaics, watercolors, fiber, clay, beading, printmaking and more!
